Evelyn Elizabeth Kurtz

Evelyn Elizabeth Kurtz, 92, of Bethlehem Township, passed away peacefully on September 26, 2026 at St. Luke's Hospice House. Born on July 26, 1934, in Palmerton, PA, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Ruth (French) Eckhart.

Evelyn was known for her unwavering strength, a woman of strong faith and fierce dedication to her family. A sewing machine operator in the garment industry, she worked diligently and instilled the values of hard work and commitment in her children. Evelyn had a zest for life that was evident in her many interests-she loved gardening, cooking, and collecting antiques, and had a particular fondness for exploring flea markets and especially loved Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. An avid fan of the Philadelphia Phillies and the Kansas City Chiefs, her enthusiasm for sports created lasting memories for her family.

Evelyn was cherished by her loved ones for her straightforward nature and her cleanliness in all aspects of life. She was a brave woman, always speaking her truth and demonstrating a love that knew no bounds.

Evelyn will be dearly missed by her children, Roxann Leggett, Richard (Linda) Kurtz, Rodney Kurtz, and Randal (Paula) Kurtz; sister, Joyce Madhouse and brother, Ted Kincaid; seven grandchildren, Jake, Laura, Kortny, Kory, Kaitlyn, Kayla and Tiffany; nine great-grandchildren, Corryn, Lexi, Scarlett, Calleigh, Leo, Sylvia, David, Gabe, and Tanner; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her granddaughter, Chantal, her children's father, Donald Kurtz; and her seven brothers, Ralph, Willard, Charles, Francis, Oliver, Richard, and Ernest.

A private graveside service will be held at Union Cemetery of Hellertown.
