Ernest J. “Ernie” Peckham, 80, of Red Hill and formerly of Lehigh Township, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 7th, 2024. Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Roy and Mildred (Goodline) Peckham. He was the beloved husband of Patricia (Clifford) Peckham. He served his country honorably in the Air Force during the Vietnam War. Following his service, he worked for Proctor & Gamble in Mehoopany, PA. During that time, he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and Business Management from the University of Scranton. He went on to work for Mack Trucks for 18 years at the Cincinnati branch as Office Manager and in Allentown as Customs Coordinator. He was a former member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Danielsville where he served as a lector. After moving to Red Hill, he became a member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church in Pennsburg. Ernie was Aspires “Mentor of the year “in 1995. His life was one of service to his community volunteering with the United Way, Autism, Heart and Lung Organizations, Easter Seals and more. He served as Cub Scout leader in Cherryville and worked with Northampton High School’s football and band boosters. His positive outlook on life was felt by all who knew him.

He battled Parkinson’s disease for 34 years without a complaint. His response when anyone asked him how he was, he replied “Wonderful.” He loved camping and traveling -his favorite being Las Vegas. He loved family get-togethers and talking almost daily to his brother Bob. His children and grandchildren were his pride and joy and he readily showed off their pictures.
