Ernest G.”Ernie” Koch, 82, of Hellertown, passed away on October 18, 2012. He was the loving husband of the late Goldie (Simon) Koch who died in 2008. Born in Hellertown, he was a son of the late Clifford D and Marion (Gerhart) Koch. He worked at the former Bethlehem Steel Corp for 38 years before retiring in 1986. After that he worked part time for several food stores around Hellertown. He was a member of Lower Saucon United Church of Christ in Hellertown. Ernie was an avid photographer and owned the former K & E Photography Studio on Main Street in Hellertown. He was also an avid woodworker and made toys for craft shows. Survivors: Daughters: Nancy (Ferrani) Merritt of Bethlehem, and Verlynn wife of Butch Haneke of Greensboro, MD; a Son, Jeffrey and his wife Vicki of Eliot, ME; a sister, Vivian Herbert of Englewood, FL; grandchildren: Corey, Justin, Valerie, Karl, Ian, and Beth; great grandchildren: Jacob, and Mason; and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, Elton and Charles. Services: 1 p.m., Monday, Falk Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1418 Main St, Hellertown. All are invited to visit with the family from 12 to 1 p.m. Interment will follow in Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem.
