Ernest R. Brendlinger, 94, of the Frederick Mennonite Community and formerly of Red Hill, passed away on August 9, 2010. He was the husband of the late Kathryn G. (Schwenk) Brendlinger. Born in Frederick on November 28, 1915, he was a son of the late Claude and Elsie (Renninger) Brendlinger. He worked for Superior Tube in Collegeville for 38 years retiring in 1980. Ernest was active in the community serving on the Red Hill Planning Commission and then the Zoning Board. He was also active in his church, St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Red Hill, as past president of the Church Council and as a choir member. He was a member of the Upper Perk Senior Center, loved gardening and was an avid golfer. Several years ago, he hit a hole in one at Hickory Valley Golf Course. Ernest is survived by two daughters, Janet Mae wife of Dennis Detweiler of Jeffersonville, and Karen Lynn wife of Robert Buonfiglio of Souderton; a brother, LeRoy of the Frederick Mennonite Community; a sister, Arlene Heilner of Elverson; grandchildren Stacy, Alisa, Kristen, and Michael; and great grandchildren, Maggie, Tyler, Samuel, Nathan, and Kaden. Services will be held at 11:30 A.M., on Thursday, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 1244 St. Paul’s Church Rd., Pennsburg. All are invited to call at the church from 9:30 – 11:30.
