Ernest Bauman

Ernest "Ernie" Bauman, 96, of East Greenville, passed away peacefully at Frederick Living on July 10, 2014. He was the husband of the late Margaret (Derr) Bauman who died in 1988 and Althea (Huber) Bauman who died in 2006. He was a son of the late John K. and Elsie (Renninger) Bauman. He served his country honorably in the Army during WW II. Ernie was the owner of Bauman's Cleaners in East Greenville for 50 years before retiring in 1987. He was an active member of St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church , Pennsburg, serving on many church committees. He was a member of Legion Post #184, Palm, and a life member of Owl’s Nest #1302, East Greenville. He was also the last remaining charter member of the Upper Perkiomen Lions Club and a member of F. & A. M. Lodge #595. Ernie was an active member of his community. He served on the Upper Perkiomen School Board for many years. He was also a volunteer medical appointment driver for the Open Line and he delivered Meals On Wheels. Survivors: his children: Judith Manspeaker of Mantua, NJ; Jeffrey, and his wife Tammy; and James, and his wife Janice, both of East Greenville; and Jane Bauman, and her companion Lynn Siffel, of Chalfont; grandchildren: Stacy and Bryan Bauman, Jenna Manspeaker, and Melissa, wife of Michael Gildean; and great grandchildren: Brandon, Dean, Alexa, and Joshua. He was predeceased by siblings: Viola, Paul, Clarence, Robert, Alton, June, and Mary. Services: 11 a.m., Thursday, July 17, St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 81 N. Main St., Pennsburg where all are invited to a viewing from 9:30 - 11 a.m. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with military honors. Contributions: may be made in his memory to the church.
