Endre Markus

Endre “Andy” Markus, 84, of Coopersburg, passed away peacefully on July 4, 2023. Born in Hungary, he was the son of the late Gabor and Emma (Marton) Markus.

Andy came to America when he was 17 years old looking for adventure. Speaking only Hungarian, he quickly taught himself English and studied everything he could about American history and culture. He found the love of his life with Ramona and they settled in Hellertown, PA where he worked as a carpet installer, eventually working for himself prior to his retirement.

Andy was a true lover of life. He was an avid gardner, an artist, an orchid grower, a birder, the neighborhood “handyman”, a cook, and a friend to all.

Surviving is his loving wife: Ramona Markus; children: Denise (Paul) Jackovitch, Andrea (Travis) Rennig, and Desiree (David) Solito; grandchildren: Andrew “AJ”, Cassidy, Dylan, Hayden, Jacob, and Joshua; step grandchildren: Katie, David, and Leabeth; great grandchildren: Emma, and Jackson.

All are invited to gather at Falk Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1418 Main Street, Hellertown, PA 10855 beginning at 1pm with a Celebration of life at 2pm on Sunday July 9 th 2023. A celebration of Andy with family and friends to follow at the American Legion, 935 Main Street, Hellertown, PA at 3pm.
