Elsie D. Connelly, 74, of Red Hill, passed away peacefully in her home with her family by her side on January 25, 2012. She and her beloved husband, John T. Connelly, celebrated 55 years of marriage in October. Born in Abington, Elsie was the daughter of the late Daniel S. and Elsie A. (Keets) DiGregorio. She was a graduate of Gwynedd Mercy Academy. Elsie and her husband owned and operated the Connelly Machine & Tool Co., in Green Lane for 30 years until retiring in 2006. Prior to that, she worked at Knoll International Furniture Co., in East Greenville as a secretary in the Purchasing Department. During her years in Green Lane, Elsie served as Marlborough Township Auditor. She was a member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church and the Ladies Auxiliary of Father Leo J. Letterhouse Council #6614 of the Knights of Columbus. She was also a former parent volunteer at the St. Philip Neri School and Girl Scout leader. Elsie was an avid reader, loved traveling and the beach, and held her children, grandchildren, and husband at the center of her life. Surviving with her husband is a daughter, Catherine, wife of Jeffrey L. Wieand Sr., of Pottstown, Pa.; sons, John T. Connelly Jr., Ed.D, and his wife, Marcy, of Beaver Falls, Pa., Michael P. Connelly, DC, of Limerick, Pa., and Matthew T. Connelly and his wife, Rebecca, of Quakertown, Pa.; grandchildren: Jeffrey, Maegan, Christine, John, Kayla, and Taylor; a brother, Dan DiGregorio, of Raleigh, N.C.; a sister-in-law, Dolores, wife of Sonny Amerman, of Horsham, Pa.; brothers-in-laws: James Connelly and his wife, Yvonne, of Toms River, N.J., and Joseph Connelly and his wife, Nancy, of Freemansburg, Va.; and sister-in-law, Mary B. Connelly, of Perkasie, Pa. She is also survived by an aunt, Betty Butera, of Lafayette Hill, Pa.; and many nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, she was pre-deceased by a daughter, Mary Ann. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m., on Saturday, Feb. 4, at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church in Pennsburg, Pa. Guest are welcome to arrive an hour prior to Mass to greet the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be offered in her memory to St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, 1325 Klinerd Rd., Pennsburg, Pa. 18073.
