Edward Quier, 82, of Hellertown, passed away peacefully on November 9, 2014. He was the husband of the late Michele (LeCourt) who died in 1960 and the former husband of Anna (Bachert). Born in Lower Saucon Township, he was a son of the late John T. and Dorothy P. (Grube) Quier. He served his country honorably in the Army during the Korean War. He worked in collision repair for City Motors in Bethlehem for 13 years. Following that, he was the hydrolics repairman for the Rolling Mills of the former Bethlehem Steel Corp. He was a seven time National Weight and Power Lifting Champion, a two time World All Around Weight Lifting Champion, and was a member of the US Weightlifting Federation and the U.S. Track & Field Association. He served as the track coach for the “Valley Striders” in South East PA for 30 years. He was also a professional Stock Car driver and sponsor for many years. Survivors: A daughter, Diana, wife of Donald Severn of Lower Saucon Twp; a son David John Quier, with whom he resided; a daughter Tina, wife of Emil Giordano of Hanover Twp; a daughter Lisa, wife of Timothy Klotz of Hellertown; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and sisters: Nancy, wife of Glenn Snyder of Nazareth, and Ruth Ann, wife of Tony Jones of Bethlehem. He was predeceased by siblings: Maynard, Fern, and Janet. Services: All are invited to gather at Lower Saucon United Church of Christ from 10 – 11 am on Saturday.
