Edward A. May, of Moorestown, NJ, and formerly of the Upper Perkiomen Valley,PA, died September 13, 2010. His wife of 67 years, A. Dovie May, died last year. Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was a son of the late Frank and Mary (Fuchs) May. His brother, Rt. Rev. Msgr. Joseph F. May preceded him in death. Edward was a chemist, who was on the Roster of Scientific Personnel during WWII, and later worked in the printing ink industry in Philadelphia and Washington, DC. In the 1970’s, Ed taught CCD and worked within the Archdiocese of Washington, DC, to try to get federal support for Catholic schools. He was a Fourth Degree of the Knights of Columbus. Edward is survived by six daughters: Barbara, wife of Gary Hordemann, of Spokane, WA; Veronica, wife of Robert Legg, of Battle Ground, WA; Marion, wife of John Rourke, of Locust Grove, VA; Rita, wife of Thomas Lee, of Santee, CA; Arlene, wife of Alfred DiSipio Jr., of Moorestown, NJ; and Carolyn May Essel, of Media, PA; 13 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Funeral Mass will be on Monday, at ll AM at St. Phillip Neri Catholic Church, 1325 Klinerd Road, Pennsburg, PA 18073. Friends may call from 10-10:45 AM at the church.
