Earl Martin Yerger, 83, of Northampton, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Schuylkill Haven, he was the son of the late George and Mildred (Miller) Yerger. He was married to his beloved wife, Joan (Fretz) Yerger, who passed away in 2010. Earl was a machinist at Ingersoll Rand, in Phillipsburg, NJ. He worked there for 37 years before retiring in 2000. He was a lifetime member and past president of the Grover Cleveland Democratic club, as well as a lifetime member of the North End Wanderers Athletic Association.
Surviving are his children: Jess Yerger, and his wife Lynn of Easton; Christine Szutar, and her husband Christopher, of Northampton, a stepdaughter: Tracy Richardson; Siblings: Mildred Mickley, Mary Alimo, and Paul Yerger; Grandchildren: Stephanie, Lucas, Benjamin, Emilyann, Tyler, and Katie; and 5 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by siblings: George, Gary, Allen, Frank and Joseph.
