E. Marie Young

E. Marie Young, 91, of Pennsburg, passed away March 22, 2013 at Phoebe Richlandtown. She was the widow of William Young Jr. Born in Philadelphia, she was a daughter of the late Elsie (Snyder) Hartman. Marie was a temporary nanny in the Philadelphia area for several years as a young woman. Then she began working at the former Boncher & Holmes Optical, in Philadelphia, which became Plummer & Kershaw in East Greenville, and then Pennsburg. In all, she worked for the optical company for over 30 years. Marie was a member of the Macungie Church of the Nazarene. Surviving: Son- William Young III, and his wife, Jacqueline, of MA; 2 grandchildren, Elizabeth & Christopher Young; 1 great-grandchild, Haidyn Smith; and siblings: Willis Hartman, of New Oxford, PA; Miriam Lohss, of Red Lion, PA; and twin sisters: Joyce McDaniels of Seven Valleys, PA and Joy Schrum of Hallam, PA; and dear friend & caregiver, Angela Vaughn. She was pre-deceased by sisters Evelyn and Ruth. Services: Wed. 10 AM at the Macungie Church of the Nazarene, 3800 Brookside Road, Macungie, PA 18062. A viewing will be from 9-10 AM at church. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park in North Cinnaminson, NJ. Contributions: In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are requested to the church.
