Green Lane

Dwight R. Royer, 70, of Green Lane, passed away Monday, September 28, 2026, at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest, Salisbury Township. He was the husband of Debra J. (Mest) Royer, his wife of 46 years.

Dwight was born September 9, 1956, at Grand View Hospital in West Rockhill Township, to the late Milton and Esther (Miller) Royer.

Dwight worked to live rather than lived to work. He had a real gift for solving mechanical problems, and he put it to good use as a mechanic and maintenance technician in several industries. He spent much of his career at the former American Olean in Lansdale and later at Knoll (now MillerKnoll) in East Greenville, where he made lasting friendships before his retirement.

He was a longtime leader of Boy Scout Troop 591 in East Greenville, staying on long after his own children had grown and moved on. Scouting gave him the camping, the outdoors, and above all the fellowship he loved. His Scout adventures included rafting and canoeing on the Delaware, whitewater rafting on the Lehigh, a canoe trek at Maine High Adventure, and several backpacking trips. On his own time, he loved mountain biking and riding his motorcycle.

Dwight and Debra loved Halloween and making applesauce with friends each year. They enjoyed trips in their travel trailer and visits with family, and nothing mattered more to Dwight than the time he spent with the people he loved.

In addition to his wife, Dwight is survived by his children: Rebecca (Terry) Royer-Williamson of Prestonsburg, KY; Nick (Melissa) Royer of Oaks, PA; and Nathan (Elizabeth) Royer of Pennsburg; his brother, Paul (Nancy) Fox of Nokomis, FL; his grandchildren: Isaac Royer, Brayden Williamson, Ben Royer, and Caleb Royer; and his canine companion, Dusty.

A private gathering will be held at a later date. Falk Funeral Homes & Crematory, Pennsburg, is handling arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pennsburg U.C.C., 775 Main Street, Pennsburg, PA 18073.
