Dwight Dwain Ernst, 72, of Hellertown, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, January 18th, 2025. Born on November 10, 1952, in Bethlehem Pennsylvania. He was a son of the late Maynard and Betty (Schlicher) Ernst. Dwight worked as a manager for Weldship Corporation in Hellertown and Bethlehem for over 40 years until retiring in 2018. Dwight was a devoted father whose children were his pride. He was a gentle soul who cherished time with his children and family. We were fortunate to have him as a father and cherish all of the memories he left us. He spent his early years dedicated to his parents and their family farm, even as he began to grow his own family. Throughout his life he touched the lives of countless others with kindness and wisdom. His silence could be deafening, but his actions spoke louder than his words. His legacy of kindness towards those in need will never be forgotten. Dwight enjoyed a passion for all that is FORD, his prize possession was his 1947 Ford Truck that he restored with his son Noah. He also donated religiously to the Cystic Fibrosis foundation his whole life in honor of his son Adam.
He is survived by his children: Noah (Cheryl) of Hellertown, Christy (Leo) of Orefield, and Mark and (Janelle) of Ft. Bragg, CA. He is also survived by his brother, Keith and his wife, Rita of Hellertown, and his sister, Karen and her husband, Bruce Reiner of Palmerton; his sister-in-law, Cindi Ernst; his beloved dog, Sunny; and countless close family and friends. He was predeceased by a son Adam who died from Cystic Fibrosis, and his brother, Sheldon.
All are invited to gather with his family on Saturday Feb. 8, 2025, from 10:30 – 12 pm with a celebration of his life at 12 pm, at the Falk Funeral Home, 1418 Main Street Hellertown, PA 18055. He will be laid to rest privately in Durham Cemetery.
