Dorothy Jean [née: Rothrock] Morgues (b. September 1st, 1932) passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 30th, 2021. Born in Warren, Pennsylvania, her earliest days were spent in the small town of Benezette, where the elk outnumbered the people. She later moved to Belle Vernon, where she spent most of her youth, traveling across the U.S. during her lifetime before eventually settling in Allentown, Pennsylvania. Even as a little girl Dorothy had an appreciation for beautiful things, whether she was picking all the flowers off Mrs. Petitto’s prized peony bush or developing an appreciation for art at her first job out of school at Corning Glass Co.. She possessed a quick wit and love of "learning the local scoop," earning herself the nickname “Death Valley Dottie” from family. After raising three children, managing a household, and earning a reputation for "pork chops that bounced" during her first chapter of life, things changed for Dottie the moment she met Al Morgues and gave love a second chance. Dorothy Morgues had a western-Pennsylvania bull-headedness to try, fail, and try again that her loved ones will always remember. Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents, Helen and Charles, and her older brother Chaz; her husband, Al, and ex-husband and friend, Keith. She is survived by her three ornery children, Tim, Suzi, and James, and their spouses (the favorites) Bob and Peggy; her two step-daughters, Stacey and Sara; her six grandchildren, who'll always love their Grammy; and her family in friendship, Helen and Javad. Dottie, your family will miss your stylish flair, the way you feigned shock at Al’s jokes, and your fantastical stories of days gone by. Most of all, we will miss you. In lieu of flowers the family requests that you consider donating to or volunteering at your favorite charity, in memory of Dorothy’s three decades of service at the Tree Top Gift Shop at Lehigh Valley Hospital Cedar Crest
