Dorothy M. (Geary) Krause, 88, died Sunday evening, October 19th in Pennsburg Manor where she had been a patient since 1998. She was the widow of the late Morris E. Krause. Born in Bethlehem she was the daughter of the late Warren W. C. and Eva (Miller) Geary. She later spent her early years in Allentown before moving to East Greenville at age ten. For many years she and her husband “Mike” owned and operated Geary’s Jewelry Store at 4th and Washington Streets in East Greenville. Her passions were knitting and sewing as well as cooking, reading, and oil painting. She loved animals and walking and would often be seen in and around town walking her dog and getting in shape for the next Crop Walk. She participated in all of them up until her illness. Over the years she volunteered in many community service organizations including 50 years in The Eastern Star. Mrs. Krause was an active member of New Goshenhoppen United Church of Christ contributing much to the church by way of her time and talents. Survivors: Dorothy was the only aunt and played an important role in the lives of her five nephews and nieces. Karl W. Winsch of East Greenville, Keith E. Winsch of New Port Richey, FL, Evelyn (Winsch) Oberholtzer of Blandon, Berks County, and the late Dorothy (Winsch) Shane and Robert H. Winsch. She was also preceded in death by her only sibling, sister, Evelyn G. Winsch who passed in 2004. Services: Graveside services will be on Saturday, October 25 at 1:00 pm at New Goshenhoppen UCC Cemetery, East Greenville. There will be no calling hours. Contributions: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dorothy’s memory to New Goshenhoppen UCC, 1070 Church Road, East Greenville, PA 18041. Falk Funeral Homes, Pennsburg, is in charge of arrangements.
