Doris Howley

Doris Howley passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 26, 2021. She is survived by her only child: Jodi Amorese and her Fiancé, Lee Spenadel; her two grandchildren: Jessica Cahill and Bethany Spangenberg; and her sister: Eleanore Buoncristiano. She is now reunited with her late husband of 56 years, Joe Howley. Doris Howley was born on July 6, 1927, in Nutley, NJ. She was the second youngest of six children. Doris was an everyday hero, who made most of humble beginnings growing up through the depression, overcoming and persevering through life’s obstacles. She lived for many years in Newark, Nj and worked at RCA. In the 1970’s, Doris and her late husband, Joe, moved to Cedar Grove, Nj where they spent many years raising their only daughter Jodi, while working and being active members of their community. Doris and Joe later moved to Flemington, NJ, then Forks Township, PA to be close to their beloved daughter. Doris made friends easily and continued to be a productive and active member of every community she lived in. Doris was a beloved crossing guard in Cedar Grove for many years and loved helping children to and from school. She was an animal lover and spent many hours and miles walking dogs for her friends and community. Doris was the kind of women who would give you the shirt off her back. She had a witty sense of humor and a kind soul. She will be dearly missed.
