Donald Robert Lammers

February 24, 1930 — January 13, 2016

Donald R. Lammers, 85, of Red Hill, passed away January 13, 2016. He was the beloved husband of Mary M. (Ronayne) Lammers. The couple were married 64 years last June. Born in LeSueur, MN, he was a son of the late Henry & Theresa (Wacker) Lammers. Donald served in the Army during the Korean War for which he received a Purple Heart, the United Nations Service Medal, and the Korean Service Medal with 3 Bronze Service Stars. He was an electrical trades instructor at the Graterford Prison until his retirement in 1996. Prior to that, he worked for Josten’s, Telford for 20 years. Donald was a former Mayor of Red Hill in the mid-1980’s.

He was a member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, Pennsburg. He was also a member of the Military Order of the Purple Heart, Chapter 190 and a member of the VFW, Red Hill, and a lifetime member of the DAV, Cincinnati, OH.

Surviving with his wife, are daughters: Trish( Bill) Kirkpatrick, of Red Hill; Linda Friday, of Barto; and Melissa (Ryan) Dunn, of Buffalo, NY; 6 grandchildren: Amanda, Michael, Matthew, Will, Mary, and John; a great-granddaughter: Chloe; a niece & 6 nephews. He was pre-deceased by siblings: Francis, Patrick and Mary Louise; a nephew, Jay, a brother-in-law, Thomas Lloyd, and a sister-in-law, June.

A Memorial Mass will be held April 23, 2016, 10:00 am at St. Philip Neri Church, 1325 Klinerd Rd, Pennsburg PA 18073. The Falk Funeral Homes & Crematory, Pennsubrg, is in charge of arrangements. To offer on-line condolences, please visit his “Book of Memories” at falkfuneralhomes.com.
