Dr. Donald D. Detsch, PsyD, PhD, 69, of Emmaus, died July 31, 2016. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Dewey W. Detsch and Jacqueline (Mullin) Detsch Phingstl.
Donald received his degrees from Temple, University of Miami and St. Louis University. He had an adolescent behavior private practive for 25 years, was an adjunct professor at many secondary schools around the area, was Staff Behavior Specialist at KidsPeace Hospital and retired in 2005. Donald was a member of AARP, Allentown Chapter # 5415, where he was on the Board of Directors and Legislative Committee Chair; RSVP, Diakon Lutheran Social Services; CARIE, education on Medicare Fraud; Cedar Lutheran Church, member, serve on Finance & Endowment Committees; Thrivent Financial for Lutherans, Board, and Assistant Financial Director and American Psychological Association Member Emeritus.
Survivors: half brother, Daniel L. Mullin of Whitehall; stepmother Veronica Detsch, of Allentown; stepsister, Susan, wife of Thomas Costello of Allentown; his aunt, Dorothy, wife of Jimmy Agrippine; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
