Dolores Simmons

Dolores E. Simmons, 82, of East Greenville, passed away July 19, 2013. She was the beloved wife of Robert W. Simmons. They were married 62 years this past March. Born in Erie, she was a daughter of the late Warren and Esther (Geiger) Neimeyer. Early in life, she was a mender for the former Stouffer's Hosiery in Emmaus. Following that, she was a polisher for the former Plummer Precision Optics, Pennsburg. Dolores was a member of the Hosensack E.C. Church. She was a life member of the East Greenville Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary, a 50+ year member of the Auxiliary of the American Legion, Post # 184, Palm; a member of the Upper Perkiomen Senior Citizens Center and the Golden Agers. Dolores was an artist who enjoyed painting and quilting. Surviving with her husband, are children: Carl, and his wife, Diane, of Boyertown; and Roberta, of East Greenville; siblings: Myrtle Rose, of Latrobe; Leon Neimeyer, of Mertztown; Lois Althouse, of Emmaus; and Ronald Neimeyer, and his wife, Dolores, of Allentown; a half-brother: Roger Flexer, and his wife, Lena, of Sherman, TX; and grandchildren: Stacy, wife of Josh Schmale & Kyle. She was pre-deceased by a daughter, Janet; brothers, Ernest & Dale; and a half-sister, Janice Velaquez. Memorial Services will be at 2 PM on Sunday in the East Greenville Fire House Banquet Hall. All are invited to gather beginning at 1:00 PM.
