David E. Phillips, Sr., 88, of Forks Twp. entered into internal rest at home on June 24, 2024. David was born on October 29, 1935, in Phillipsburg, NJ. He was the son of the late Ethel and Elwood Phillips.
David graduated from Phillipsburg High School in 1953. After high school, he served in the US Air Force from 1954-1958. He retired from Hoffman LaRoche after 25 years as a chemical operator. David was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church, worked as a volunteer at the Joseph H. Firth Youth Center and served in leadership roles with The Steele Hill Athletics Club. David was active in the Phillipsburg Masonic Lodge #52 F. & A. M. and served as Grand Tall of the Tall Cedars of Lebanon.
David is survived by his wife of 68 years, Joan Brewer Phillips; his son David and daughter-in-law Terri of Silver City, NM; his daughter Cindy and son-in-law Charles Warner of Palmer Township; his daughter Jill and son-in-law Michael Pursell of Palmer
Township; his daughter Joni Messenlehner and her husband of Hellertown; grandchildren Amy, Matthew, Meghan, Michael, Kayti, and Kylee; and great-grandchildren Cameron, Conner, and Carter.
In addition to his parents, David was predeceased by his siblings Elizabeth “Betty” Bouton, Lois Alpaugh, and Joyce Brumsetter.
