David (Dave) Byron McClain, 75, passed away peacefully in his home on Saturday, February 22, 2025. He was the beloved husband of Jeanne (Herrmann) McClain. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Edwin and Ruth (Conrad) McClain.
David was a graduate of Abington High School. He spent most of his career working in Logistics and Purchasing, first for the Hull Corporation of Hatboro for 27 years, and for Pelmor Labs of Newtown from which he retired. He enjoyed one year as a bus driver for elementary students at the Council Rock School District where he received many compliments from parents for the care he gave. David was active in his church, North and Southampton Reformed Church serving as a Deacon and Property Committee Chair. Dave was one of a kind, often described as incredibly patient, considerate, and kind.
Dave was a true family man who enjoyed summers with his family in Ocean City or in the backyard by the pool with his children and grandchildren. His favorite things included the Philadelphia Phillies and traveling. He was very meticulous, often using those skills to help his children with their home projects. Some of Dave’s fondest memories include attending Fantasy week with his son, traveling to Alaska with his family, and touring the United States in an RV with Jeanne for 4 ½ years. Dave spent his final years enjoying as much time as possible with his younger grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanne; his children: Edythe Esposito (Dominick Jr). of Hamilton NJ, Allison Steinman (Jeffrey) of Glenmoore, PA; and Jeffrey McClain (Ashley Hilmes) of Boston MA; a brother: Donald McClain, and his wife Marjorie, of Doylestown; and grandchildren: Dominic III, Kenna, Macallan, Madison, and Chloe.
