David C. Donchetz

David Charles Donchetz, 66, of Easton, PA, passed away on Friday, December 31, 2021. Born August 23, 1955, he was the son of the late Charles and Ethel Donchetz of Hellertown, PA. Dave spent the majority of his life as the owner and operator of Dave’s Trucking and Paving, and could frequently have been seen (and heard) at Bergey’s General Store in Wassergass until he retired. He played volleyball, basketball, and recreational softball as long as he could, which is how he met his fiancée and domestic partner of over 30 years, Birgit Pump. He also volunteered for a time with the Lower Saucon Volunteer Fire Department. When he wasn’t working or chatting up anyone who’d listen, Dave could be found watching the Phillies and Eagles, Hercule Poirot mysteries, and John Wayne westerns... even though he’d seen them all 100 times. Dave is survived by Birgit and his stepson, Luke, of Long Beach, CA; a brother, Ronald Donchetz, of Hellertown; and a sister, Judith Takacs, of Easton.
