Dale Martin

Dale Larry Martin, 62, of Birdsboro, passed away on September 5, 2013, surrounded by his family and pets after a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of Sheila A. (Wieand) Martin. The couple was married 41 years this past June. Born in Quakertown, he was a son of the late Paul E. Martin and Miriam N. (Mann) Landis. Dale was a graduate of Penn State University, and received an MBA from St. Joseph's University. He was a banker, most recently for VIST Bank, in Wyomissing. He previously worked for Sovereign Bank and All First Bank in the Berks County area. Dale was an expert skier and snowboarder and was a certified instructor. He also enjoyed traveling and hiking. He was an active member of the Flying Dutchman Ski Club; a past Board Member of Easy Does It, of Leesport, PA; former member the Berks County Alumni Assn. of Penn State; and a former volunteer for the American Red Cross and the United Way of Berks County. Dale was a member of Trinity Great Swamp United Church of Christ, Spinnerstown. Surviving with his wife, is a sister, Nancy, wife of Edward Kerver, of Pennsburg; a sister-in-law, Kathy, widow of Paul E. Martin Jr, of Richlandtown; and nieces & nephews. Memorial Services will be at 1 PM on Tuesday at Trinity Great Swamp UCC, 9150 Spinnerstown Road, Spinnerstown, PA 18968. Friends may call from 12-1 PM.
