Clayton “Bud” Klotz was born October 15th, 1929 in Redding, California. Bud returned with his parents and siblings to Pennsylvania, and settled in Bethlehem, Pa. He graduated from Liberty High School in Bethlehem , Pa. After graduation he joined the US Army, and served his country honorably in Trieste, Italy, with the TRUST core during the Korean conflict. After returning from his military service, he met and married the love of his life, Nancy Gemberling. Bud and Nancy had three children, Diane, Richard, and Sally Jean, who they raised in the warmth of their Center Valley home. Eventually welcomed 5 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren. He retired from Bell Telephone in 1992, and lived briefly in Palm Bay, Florida after retirement. Bud never missed the opportunity to tell a joke, and loved weaving colorful stories over tiramisu. He was passionate about his Lutheran faith, Phillies sports team and proud of his military service. He never met a stranger or a dessert he didn’t like. He often could be heard singing German songs to himself. After his wife Nancy’s passing in 2011, he would often pull out a picture of her he kept in his wallet and show it to anyone who would take the time, telling them he had married the most beautiful woman he had ever seen. We remain confident that, in his passing, he returned home to his Lord and Savior. He is survived by his children: Diane, wife of Dennis Frankenfield of Scottsdale, AZ; Richard Klotz, and his wife, Margaret, of Allentown;and Sally Jean, wife of David Bauer of Center Valley; sisters: Dorothy Glasmire, of Nazareth; Virginia Getz ,of Hellertown; and Nancy Jean Curley, of Charlette, NC; grandchildren: Gregory, Matthew, Marybeth, Timothy, and Janine; and great-grandchildren: Hailee, Brent, Blake, Josh, Liam, Matthew, and Wyatt. An infant brother, Raymond, preceded him in death. Graveside Services will be at 10 AM on Tuesday, January 5, at Bethlehem Memorial Park, 1851 Linden St, Bethlehem, PA 18017.
