Claude Phillippe

February 19, 1947 — April 5, 2014

C. Michael Phillippe, 67, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 5, at home after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was the only child of Claude and Eddie Mae Phillippe. He grew up in Indiana and earned a BS from Hanover College and a Masters Degree in Chemistry from Miami University of Ohio. He served in the Army Reserves. His professional life spanned 40 years and he retired in 2011 as Marketing Director for Scientific Publishing at Thomson Reuters. He was an avid fly fisherman and loved the rivers and streams of Pennsylvania, New York, and Montana. He also fished in Chile and Alaska. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Bethlehem where he was a hospital ministrant. Survivors: He was married to Pamela Evans (Cochran) Phillippe for 44 years; the father of Kristin Michele, wife of Stephen F. Yerger, of West Chester, PA, a son, Evan Michael Phillippe and his fiancée Julia S. Kocubinski; and the grandfather of Matthew N. Yerger and Madaline N. Yerger. Services: A Memorial Service and Celebration of his life will be held at 12:30 P.M., on Saturday, April 12, in the Sanctuary of First Presbyterian Church of Bethlehem. Contributions: In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate contributions in his memory to the American Cancer Society, the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, or Lehigh Valley Hospice.
