Clarence Johnson

Clarence E. “Jimmy” Johnson, Jr., 76, of Easton and formerly of Phillipsburg, New Jersey, died November 22, 2011. He was the husband of the late Joan (Lauber) Johnson. Born in Phillipsburg, NJ he was a son of the late Clarence E. Sr. and Carmella (Albert) Johnson. He served his country honorably during the Korean War in the US Marine Corps. Early in Jim’s life, he was a member of the International Brotherhood of Laborers, Local Union #472 working in heavy highway Construction from Newark, NJ. He then transferred to the building trades, and was a member of the Brotherhood of Laborers, Local #569, Washington, NJ, and Local #593 of Sommerville, NJ where he remained a member until his death. He was of the Lutheran faith. He is survived by a son: Michael and his wife Kathy of Phillipsburg, NJ, daughters, Michele wife of Donnie Price of Houston, TX, and Dawn Stout of Phillipsburg; NJ; stepchildren: Cindy wife of Michael Jones of Catasauqua, and Joseph and his wife Olena Guttman of Philadelphia; his brothers Carl and Robert both of Phillipsburg, NJ; five grandchildren; one step grandchild; and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a child who died at birth; a daughter, Tammy Lynn; and grandson, Robbie. Services will be held privately.
