Clara Hammes

Clara M. “Claire” Hammes Clara May “Claire” Hammes, 91, of Perkiomenville, and formerly of Roxborough, died September 13, 2008. She was the widow of Samuel Hammes. Born in Philadelphia, she was a daughter of the late William and Frances (Jackson) Kershner. She was a part time cashier for the A & P, in Roxborough for several years. Before that, she was employed at Philco. She enjoyed playing bridge, doing crafts, watching T.V. soap operas, and shopping. She is survived by grandchildren: Linda, wife of Joe Boileau, with whom she resided, and Mike Gallagher. She was pre-deceased by a daughter, Marilyn, widow of William Gallagher, of Montgomery Twp., and a brother, Raymond Kershner. Services will be 11 AM on Friday at the Falk Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc, 163 Main Street, Pennsburg. Friends may call on Thursday, from 6-8 PM and on Friday from 10-11 AM at the funeral home. Interment will be in George Washington Memorial Park, Plymouth Meeting. On-line condolences may be offered at www.falkfuneralhomes.com. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the Montgomery Hospice, 25 W. Fornance Street, Norristown, PA 19401.
