Charles E. Simmons, 71, of Quarry Drive, Bloomsburg, died July 25, 2011 at St. Luke's Hospital, Quakertown, He was the husband of Kathleen (Engle) Simmons. Born in Oklahoma, he was a son of the late Charles B. and Ethel (White) Simmons. He was a union carpenter, local 1595, Philadelphia, until retiring in 2002. He served in the Army during peace time. Surviving: with his wife; are sons: Charles, of Oklahoma; Jeffrey, and his wife, Wendi, of Downingtown; Anthony, and his wife, Gina, of Ohio; daughters: Moriah Simmons, of Brooklyn, NY; and Alecka, wife of Michael Champion, of Morrisonville, NY; Sisters: Julia Boren and Joyce Schwab, both of Missouri; a brother: Denver, and his wife, Janice, of Missouri; Half-brother: Jerry Spencer, of Kansas; 6 grandchildren: Ramona, Kyle, Kayleigh, Sara, Hannah, and Rowan; and many nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by a sister, June; a brother, J.D., and a half-brother, Kenneth Spencer.
