Charles P. Longacre

July 30, 1930 — October 2, 2012

Charles P. Longacre Sr., 82, of Limerick, passed away peacefully at home on October 2, 2012. He was the beloved husband of Kathleen (Joyce) Longacre. They celebrated 31 years of marriage in June. Born in Conshohocken, he was a son of the late Percy and Jessie (Buhler) Longacre. He served his country honorably in the Army during the Korean War. He was a butcher and worked for the A&P Company for 45 years before retiring in 1992. He loved people, was an avid golfer, and was a dedicated Phillies and NASCAR fan.

Surviving with his wife is a son Charles and his wife Alison of Spinnerstown; a daughter Teri, wife of Blaze Pecenak of NJ; 5 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren; a brother: Robert and his wife Charlene of Spinnerstown; sisters: Doris Rumley of Macungie, Phyllis Yeagle of NH, Norma wife of Ty Kratz of LA, Elizabeth, wife of Caroll Maiott of the Pocono's; and sisters-in-law: Barbara of FL, and Ruth of Hatfield. He was pre-deceased by a son: Richard C. Sheets, and brothers: Kenneth, Leroy, and Theodore.

A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
