Charles Erb

Charles N. Erb Sr., 88, of Green Lane, passed away peacefully on May 22, 2016. He was the husband of the late Mildred (Weigner) Erb who died in 2008. Born in East Greenville, he was a son of the late Charles K. and Dorothy (Wiegner) Erb. He served his country honorably in the Army during WWII. He worked as a Lead Man for Superior Tube until his retirement in 1993. He was of the Schwenkfelder faith. He was a member of the Friendship Hook & Ladder Company in Boyertown. He was also a former coach and umpire for Little League Baseball in the Collegeville area and an avid bowler. Surviving are his sons, Charles Jr. “Chip” Eileen of Limerick, Jeffrey and Patricia of Schwenksville, and Douglas and Dawn of Barto; a daughter Sherry, wife of John Petrucelli of Green Lane; thirteen grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and a sister, Mabel Rizzo of Pennsburg. He was predeceased by a brother Henry. A Memorial Service will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, May 31, at the Falk Funeral Home, 163 Main St, Pennsburg, PA 18073. All are invited to gather from 9:30 AM. Military Honors will be accorded at the funeral home and interment will be held privately at a later date. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in his memory to Vets For Vets, 34 Fourth St, Pennsburg, PA 18073 or The American Cancer Society, Upper Perkiomen Unit 12, in care of the funeral home.
