Charles “Charlie” E. Corbin, 94, of Hellertown and formerly of Leighton, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 9, 2021. Born in Alexandria, VA, he was a son of the late Charles and Edith (Tanner) Corbin. He was the husband of the late Margaret “Peggy” (Schwalm) Corbin and then the late Shirley (Breeden) Corbin. Charlie graduated from high school in 1945 and his vocation was as a master brick mason.
He is survived by his daughter, Pamela, wife of Leo Skrovanek, with whom he resided; his granddaughter, Leslie Moorman of FL; and his niece, Christine Kearney of San Antonio, TX; a stepson Wayne Donuhue of VA; stepdaughters Dreama Donahue of Kansas City and Pam
Phillips of MD; and a step granddaughter Lindsay “Bug” Ogden of Kansas City.. He was predeceased by a daughter, Patricia Anne Corbin; a son, Michael DeWitt Corbin; a sister, Annabelle Jenkins; and a grandson, Charles Michael Anderson. Charlie also had many friends, he was very grateful to have shared his journey with, and they all left an imprint on his heart.
All are invited to a viewing from 9 – 10 AM on Thursday, September 16, at the Fairfax Memorial Funeral Home, 9902 Braddock Rd., Fairfax, VA 22032 (on the grounds of Fairfax Memorial Park). A Celebration of his life will follow the viewing at 10 AM, He will be laid to rest with his family in Fairfax Memorial Park with military honors.
