Charles Byerley

August 6, 1933 — February 4, 2009

Charles W. Byerley Jr., 75, of Williams Township, passed peacefully into eternal life on February 4, 2009. He was the beloved husband of Marjorie (Barrell) Byerley. They were married 53 years last July. Born in Weissport, he was a son of the late Charles W. Sr. and Myrtle (Knappenberger) Byerley. He served his country honorably in the Air Force during the Korean War. He was a repairman for the former Bethlehem Steel Corp. for 25 years until retiring in 1984. He was a member of Lower Saucon United Church of Christ. He was a life member of the D.A.V. and a member of the Edward F. Ackerman Post # 397 of the American Legion, Hellertown. Survivors: wife; sons: Charles III and wife Laurie of Dublin, PA; Alan and wife April, and Robert and wife Toni, both of Williams Twp.; and David and wife Vicki of Hellertown; daughter Betty, at home; brother Jacob and wife Jean of Lower Saucon Twp., sister M. Victoria Greninger of Newton, TX; and sister-in-law, Doris, widow of Bob Byerley, of Forest Inn; 11 grandchildren: Joshua, Kate, wife of Doug Snyder, James, Charles IV, William, Sarah, Jessica, Megan, Joella, Brielle, and Nevin; and 1 great grandson, Jacob, son of Joshua Byerley. He was also predeceased by a sister Pearl Schleicher. Services: A memorial celebration of his life will be held at 11 AM on Monday at the Falk Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1418 Main St., Hellertown.
