Charlene D. Trimpi, 83, of Allentown, PA died on Monday October 8, 2012 at Lehigh Valley Hospital (Cedar Crest). She was a long time Allentown resident for over 50 years. Charlene (Ellie) was born in Abington, PA, attended Friends Select School, the George School and graduated from Colby Sawyer College in New Hampshire. She attended continuing educational classes for Art, History and Literature at Muhlenberg College, and Music Theory and Appreciation at Cedar Crest College. She was a founding and honorary member (over 40 years) of the Lehigh County Medical Auxiliary's Scholarship and Educational Fund, Inc. (LeCoMASE) providing scholarships to Lehigh County medical students. She was an active member of the Episcopal Church of the Mediator in Allentown. She performed volunteer work for: the Allentown Literacy Council (former board member); Women's Medical Auxiliary of the Lehigh County Medical Society (former chair); the Episcopal Diocese of Bethlehem; Common Ground of the Lehigh Valley mediation service; Income Tax Counseling for the Elderly; Meals on Wheels; Turning Point of the Lehigh Valley; Apprise health insurance assistance counseling and the Lehigh University Zoellner Art Center. She was a Terrier enthusiast, talented cook and profoundly giving parent, wife and friend. She lived her life with remarkable poise, charity, and dignity. She will be remembered for her generosity, decency and strength of character. She was a patient and loving mother, whose intelligence, love and devotion deeply enriched the lives of her friends and family. Survivors: She was the sister of the late Dr. M. Josephine Deubler, late Ms. Eva Deubler and late Dr. James A. Deubler. She was the daughter of the late Dr. Ernest C. Deubler and Mary (Groff) Deubler. She was the former wife of the late Dr. Howard D. Trimpi. Surviving are: her son, Richard D. Trimpi and his wife, Joanne L. Trimpi; daughter, Barbara Trimpi Salama and her husband, Wael Salama; and grandsons, Adam Wael Salama and Noah Wael Salama. Services: A Memorial Service will be held on Friday October 12, 2012 at 11 AM at the Episcopal Church of the Mediator, 1620 Turner Street, Allentown, PA.
