Catherine Fluck

Catherine Estella (Bickel) Fluck died on July 9. 2012 at Country Meadows Retirement home in Bethlehem. Kitty was born in Wilson Borough on election day, November 3, 1925 to Raymond Bickel and Margaret Mary (Kimenhour) Bickel. A graduate of the 1943 class of Wilson High School, she joined the U. S. Nurses Cadet Corps and graduated as an RN from the Easton Hospital School of Nursing in 1946. She married Henry G. Fluck, who died in May 2010. Kitty’s father called her a professional volunteer. In the 1960s, she served as chairman of the Heart Association for eastern Northampton County, was on the Board of Directors of the Lehigh Valley Heart Association, headed the Mothers March for the March of Dimes, and was a delegate to the Salk Institute. She was a member and officer of the first PTA at the Liberty Elementary School in Wilson Borough. Kitty also volunteered on many political campaigns and was active in the Democratic Party. Kitty is survived by her son John Jeffrey Fluck, and his wife, Nancy, who reside in Bruswick, Georgia; and her son Tim Fluck, and his wife Naomi, who reside in South Burlington, Vermont.
