Carmen Rappatone

Carmen Vincent Rappatone, 74, of Ft. Meyers, FL, entered eternal rest on December 17, 2010. He was the beloved husband of Martha Rappatone. They celebrated 15 years of marriage in February. Born in Conshohocken, PA, he was the son of the late James and Mary (DePalma) Rappatone. After graduating from high school in 1954, Carmen served his country honorably as a Marine during the Vietnam war. He worked for FMC, formerly in Colmar, PA for 30 years in Quality Control. Following that, he worked for Standard Press Steel in Jenkintown also in Quality Control. He retired in 1998 and moved to Florida. Carmen was of the Catholic faith. Surviving with his wife; a step daughter, Rosemary Kavetski of Dover, DE, born of Carmen’s second wife, Catherine; and two step daughters, Elizabeth Semon of Schwenksville, PA, and Loretta Elia of Hazelton, PA, both daughters of Martha; 8 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; a sister, Louise, wife of Phillip Givinco, of Norristown; nephews, Jerry and his wife, Sherry, of Mays Landing, NJ; Thomas, of Palm Harbor, FL; James, and his wife Patricia, of Cape Coral, FL; and Greg, of Tampa, FL. He was preceded in death by his son Carmen Jr. A celebration of Carmen’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m., January 26, 2011, at “The Veranda” at Jamaica Bay Community, Ft. Meyers, FL. He will be interred at Arlington National Cemetery with full military honors at a later date.
