Brian Scott Allebach

Brian Scott Allebach, 67, of East Greenville passed away peacefully after a long battle with ALS, on Monday, May 1, 2023. He was the beloved husband of Jennifer Allebach and they celebrated 30 years of marriage in December; Brian and Jennifer created a beautiful life together. Brian was most proud of his children and family: Peter Henne and his wife Caroline, Mark Henne and his wife Emily, Jacob Henne and his wife Jessica, Katherine Allebach and her husband, Blade Umstead, Elizabeth Allebach and her husband, John McHale, and Amanda Cronin, and her husband, Foster; and his cherished grandchildren and grandnieces: Joanna, Beatrice, Jackson, Jameson, Ezra, Oliver, Eleanor, Margot, with one more arriving in July.

Brian was the son of Joyce (Blank) and the late Forrest Allebach. He is also survived by his sister, Lynn Taylor, her husband John Taylor, and children, Landon Taylor and Devon Taylor. Brian was raised in East Greenville, graduated from Upper Perkiomen High School, and attended and graduated Lebanon Valley College with a degree in Music Education.

Brian proudly served as the Human Resources Director for Perkiomen Valley School District for 22 years. He was also an active musician, taking part in the Lebanon Valley Alumni Chorale and serving numerous churches as their Choir Director. He first served as Choir Director for St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Red Hill, then for St. James Lutheran Church in Limerick, and then for his home church, St. John’s Lutheran Church in Sumneytown, from 2007, until illness prevented him from continuing in 2019.

Brian loved living in the Upper Perkiomen Valley community. He attended as many of his childrens' events as he could, supported his wife’s school board and other volunteer service, was an active patron and believer of the UPV YMCA, and enjoyed participating in community events, especially the Crop Walk (where he could be seen pushing his twin daughters in the jogging stroller), and the Lori’s Run.

Brian also enjoyed the time he and Jennifer spent in New York City at their Murray Hill apartment. Brian traveled there almost weekly to drop off Jennifer for her work or stay to attend his beloved Metropolitan Opera’s performances. His best record was attending 14 operas in one season. He loved to eat authentic thin-crust pizza, at his favorite pizzeria in Murray Hill. Brian also loved to drive to visit his children and grandchildren, across the country. Brian would have thought nothing of making the trip to Texas in two days, blasting operas the entire way. His love of family, music, and good health is the legacy he leaves behind.
