Beatrice Taylor

April 29, 1939 — March 10, 2015

Beatrice Kent Taylor passed away peacefully while surrounded by loved ones in Castle Rock, CO on March 10, 2015 Bea was born in Brooklyn, NY on April 29, 1939 to Irving & Eugenia Kent. Bea lived a happy childhood. She & her sister would cook with their Grandmother, and she loved singing songs with her Mother and going to church. After graduating high school, Bea traveled to Europe with friends touring through Germany & France. She then went to technical school for EEG/EKG testing and worked in a doctor’s office where she fell in love with the medical field. She was married in 1961 to her first husband and moved to Englewood, NJ. After the births of Kim & Kara, they moved to Park Ridge, NJ. Bea divorced in 1974 and started working at Bergen Pines Hospital in Paramus, NJ for many years, doing EEG & EKG testing. She loved her patients and being able to help people. In 1977 she married the love of her life, Rev. John Taylor, and welcomed his 5 adult children to her once small family. Bea & John lived in Pearl River, NY before moving to FL. Their first home in FL was in Port St. Lucie. Bea found a new work home as well, at Port St. Lucie Hospital. She made some wonderful lifelong friends at both hospitals she worked at, and found so much joy in going to work every day and being a part of the medical field she so loved. After a couple more moves in the local FL area, they finally settled in Palm City where they lived for over 20 years. Bea & John found their spiritual home at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Stuart, FL where John was the Assistant Minister for a few years. Bea served on the Altar Guild and was very active in the church as well as her community. After retiring from the hospital, Bea enjoyed spending time with John, taking many cruises to Europe and other amazing places, and being with her friends. She was also passionate about her faith, her family, and the many friendships she made in each place she lived. Bea also loved gardening, reading, painting and all animals great & small. She will be immensely missed by all who had the joy of knowing her. Bea is survived by her husband of 38 years, Rev. John R. Taylor, her daughters: Kim S. Kelly, and Kara M. Renck, her stepchildren: Patricia Schleifer, John Taylor, Jim Taylor, Mary Coleman, & Holly Kinney, fourteen grandchildren , one great grandson, her sister June Sutherland, and two nieces. There will be a Celebration of Life for Bea at Huff’s Union Church, 540 Conrad Rd., Alburtis, PA 18011 on May 16th, 2015 at 2pm. Please send donations to CUREPSP.org in memory of Bea.
