Barrie Perilla

Barrie R. Perilla, 71, of Allentown died peacefully on Sunday, May 24, 2015, while at home with his wife and daughters. He was the husband of Sheila A. (Scott) Perilla. Barrie and Sheila celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary in April. Born on September 2, 1943, in Allentown, PA, he was the son of the late Ralph W. and Geraldine (Reinsmith) Perilla. He graduated from Allentown High School in 1961, was a veteran of the United States Air Force and retired from PP&L after 37 years of service. He was a member of the Cathedral Church of St. Catharine of Siena, Allentown. Barrie enjoyed his family, gardening, candle-making, sports (especially every sport his daughters and granddaughters played), the Phillies and of course, the Dallas Cowboys. Barrie is survived by his wife, his daughters Tara, wife of Matt Pettengill, and Sara, wife of Chris Garvey; five (5) granddaughters: Avery, Hailey and Hannah Pettengill and Campbell and Reese Garvey; his sister, Pamela Joseph, many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Catharine’s, 204 N. 18th St., Allentown, on Friday, May 29th at 11:00 A.M. There will be a calling hour prior to Mass beginning at 10:00 A.M. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to your local youth sports association, in honor of Barrie’s love and involvement in youth sports.
