Barbara Ann Shook, 84, of Hellertown passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 19th, 2023. She was the beloved wife of Richard Shook. Born in Bethlehem, she was the daughter of the late John and Lilly (Spisak) Keblesh. Barbara was a graduate of Hellertown High in 1956 and the Frankford School of Nursing in 1959. She worked as an RN for St. Luke’s Hospital from 1959 to 1972. She also worked as an RN for Muhlenberg Hospital from 1981 to 1998. Barbara was a member of Incarnation of Our Lord Catholic Church (formerly SS. Cyril and Methodius). She was a voracious reader and an avid sports fan, and she especially loved the Phillies.
Along with her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Diane Schultz of Coopersburg, and her sons: Richard Shook and his wife Rosalyn of Atlanta, GA, and Brian Shook and Derek Thomas of Rehoboth Beach, DE; her grandchildren: Matt Schultz and his wife Kelsey, and Andrew Schultz and his wife Becky, and Drake Shook; and her great grandchildren: Addyson Schultz, Lillian Schultz, Gabriel Schultz, Charles Schultz, and Joseph Schultz.
All are invited to a viewing at the Falk Funeral Home, 1418 Main St., Hellertown on Thursday, October 26th from 6 to 7 pm and on Friday, October 27th from 8:30 to 9:15 am. A Funeral Mass will follow on Friday at 10 am in Incarnation of Our Lord Catholic Church. Following the Mass, she will be laid to rest in Hellertown Union Cemetery.
