Perkiomenville

Barbara Joan Geary, 82, of Perkiomenville, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, July 6, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on June 22, 1944, in Cheltenham, Pennsylvania, Barbara was the daughter of the late Alfred Reginold Lester, Sr. and Florence Rex (Shafer) Lester. She graduated from Ocean City High School in Ocean City, New Jersey, in 1962. On February 4, 1967, she married the love of her life, William H. Geary. Together they shared 59 years of marriage, building a life rooted in faith, family, laughter, and unconditional love.Barbara spent many years as a secretary with the Upper Perkiomen School District in Pennsburg. She was more than an employee-she was a welcoming smile and a listening ear. She had a quiet way of making people feel seen, valued, and cared for.

Her faith was the foundation of her life. As a devoted member of Falkner Swamp United Church of Christ in Gilbertsville, Barbara faithfully served through the Women's Ministry and many church activities. She found strength in her faith, joy in worship, and lasting friendships within her church family. Barbara believed that the greatest gifts in life were never things-they were people. She generously gave her time to Helping Hands fundraising efforts, remained active at the Upper Perk YMCA, and was always ready to help a neighbor, encourage a friend, or simply be there when someone needed her.

Nothing brought Barbara greater happiness than being surrounded by her family. She treasured every moment spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her happiest memories were made during annual family vacations to Ocean City, New Jersey, where days started out with Dot's Crumb Cakes, afternoons on the beach, miniature golf competitions, laughter, walks on the boardwalk eating George's Fudge, Johnson's Popcorn, Shriver's Salt Water Taffy, and Kohr Bros Ice Cream. Those simple traditions became treasured memories that her family will carry with them forever.

At home, Barbara enjoyed losing herself in a good book and faithfully cheering on the Philadelphia Phillies. She celebrated the victories, endured the losses, and never stopped believing that next season would be their year.

Barbara will be remembered for her gentle heart, unwavering faith, warm smile, quiet strength, and endless kindness. She loved without conditions, welcomed everyone with open arms, and had a remarkable gift for making others feel at home. More than anything, she will be remembered as a devoted wife, a loving mother, an adored grandmother and great-grandmother, and a faithful friend whose love will continue to be felt in the lives of all who knew her.

In addition to her devoted husband, William H. Geary, Barbara is survived by her children: Elizabeth Ravier and her husband, Paul, of Macungie; Christopher Geary of Schnecksville; and Pamela Hoffman and her husband, Brian, of Boyertown. She is also survived by her brother, Neal Lester and his wife, Betsy, of Barto.

She also leaves behind eleven treasured grandchildren: Collin, Connor, and Logan Ravier; Peyton Geary and his wife, Chandra; Griffin Geary and his wife, Mya; Madelyn Cromer and her husband; Bailey, Beckett, Kingston and Savannah Geary, and Samantha and Cole Hoffman; She was also blessed with two precious great-grandchildren, Asher Geary and Tony Ballato, who brought immeasurable joy to her later years.

In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her brothers, Alfred Lester, Jr. and Norman Lester.

The measure of a life is found not in the years we live, but in the love we leave behind. Barbara's legacy lives on in the faith she shared, the family she cherished, the friendships she nurtured, and the countless acts of kindness she offered so freely. Though her family will miss her every day, they find comfort knowing that her love, her example, and the memories she created will remain in their hearts forever.
