Arlene Fried Kramer

January 10, 1928 — November 16, 2022

Arlene Fried Kramer, 94, formerly of Bethlehem, passed away Wednesday, November 16 at Lehigh Valley Hospital Hospice in Allentown.

She was the beloved wife of Kenneth Kramer whom she married in July of 2013 at the young age of 85 and lived in Wild Cherry Knoll, Macungie where Arlene taught oil painting classes and was an avid Mahjong and bridge player. Ken and Arlene enjoyed traveling, especially to Alaska and on various cruises.

Arlene was born January 10, 1928, in Bethlehem, the daughter of the late Harry Edward Mohn and Anna Katherine Billiard. She graduated from Liberty High School and worked at the Bethlehem Steel General Offices. She was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church where she was baptized, confirmed, and married Richard Henry Fried in 1949. Arlene and Richard celebrated 57 years of loving marriage until his passing in 2006. They had two children, owned Nazareth Sporting Goods for many years where Arlene worked as a buyer and manager in the ski industry. Arlene was a talented oil painter and her paintings have blessed many homes over the years. She loved to decorate her homes and took great pride in her family. Arlene and Rich enjoyed an active lifestyle for many years, boating in Canada, skiing, golfing, tennis, bridge, traveling. They lived in Hilton Head for a number of years until they moved to Macungie. They enjoyed life to the fullest.

Arlene is survived by her husband Kenneth Kramer of Macungie; son Steven Fried and wife Julianne of Boyertown, daughter Barbara Fried Uhl and husband Terry Uhl of Coopersburg, 6 Grandchildren and 9 1/3 Great Grandchildren, the 1/3 due in May. She was predeceased by her sister, Evelyn Taglang, and her first husband Richard Fried.

Services will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, Arlene requested donations to the Second Harvest Food Bank- Lehigh Valley, 6969 Silver Crest Road, Nazareth, PA 18064.
