Arlene Bloss

Arlene N. Bloss, 82, of Lower Saucon Township, died April 30, 2010. She was the beloved wife of Robert H. Bloss. They celebrated 59 years of marriage last September. Born in South Whitehall Township, she was a daughter of the late George and Valeria (Helfrich) Borman. Arlene was known far and wide for her baking, cooking, and sewing. She had been a member of Saucon Valley Chapter # 529, Order of the Eastern Star where she was a past Worthy Matron, she was also a past Worthy Matron of Calypso Chapter # 163, Bethlehem, served on the Star of Bethlehem Club Board, was past District Deputy Grand Matron, served as Grand Representative of Sao Paulo, Brazil, and held many other offices and appointments. She was also a member Auxiliary of the Hellertown Legion and VFW. Arlene was a faithful member of Trinity UCC in Freemansburg. Survivors: husband; daughters, Beverly wife of Kevin Brader of Wernersville, and Debbie wife of Dave Riegel of Lower Saucon Twp; brothers, George of Allentown, and Paul of Fredericksburg; a sister Shirley Malone of Breinigsville; grandchildren, Jason Brader and Lori (betrothed to Ben Petsu), Chris and Ashley Riegel, and Joanne wife of Chad Hummer; and great grandchildren, Lillie Green and Olivia Hummer. She was preceded in death by her sisters, June and Betty. Services: 11 a.m., Wednesday, Falk Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1418 Main St., Hellertown. Visitation, Tuesday evening, 6 – 8 p.m. with an Eastern Star service at 7:45 p.m., and Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the service. Interment will be in Hellertown Union Cemetery.
