Anneliese “Allie” (Hettling) Plosa, 83, of East Greenville passed away peacefully on Friday, July 30th, 2021. She was the beloved wife of George Plosa. Born in Bloomfield, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Anna (Melching) Hettling, She graduated from the Belleville High School in the class of 1956 and then received her RN From Mountainside Hospital School of Nursing in Montclair, NJ. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and aunt, she helped raise a family while working as a Registered Nurse for Ciba Geigy in New Jersey. Following that, she worked as an occupational nurse for Bristol Meyers Squibb in New Jersey. She also worked as a ship’s nurse for Holland America Cruise Line. After raising her children, she worked for Simon & Shuster for 3 years as an occupational health nurse then for the Trenton Naval Air Warfare Center for the last seven years of her career. She was also a past president of the New Jersey State Association of Occupational Health Nurses. Along with her husband, she is survived by her children: Col. Ret. Beverly A. Plosa-Bowser and her husband Col. Ret. Cameron Bowser Sr. with whom she resided, Mark E. Plosa and his wife Celeste Pelizzoni of Hellertown, Rebecca E. Groff, and her husband Bruce of New Tripoli, Glenn E. Plosa and his wife Dr. Erin J. Plosa of Nashville, TN, and Sandi E. Hippauf and her husband Todd of Quakertown. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Stephanie, Nicholas, Anthony, Cameron Jr., Jacquelynn, Matthew, David, Elena, George, Bailey, Blake, Loren, Anna, Katherine, Bridget, Carter, and Sloane; and her great grandchildren: Tyler, Lilia, Victoria, Maverick, Gabriel, and soon to be born, Lazarus. She was predeceased by her daughter, Lori E. Chestnut, her brother Carl Hettling Sr., and a great granddaughter, Gwendolynn. All are invited to gather from 11:45 to 12:15 on Saturday, August 7, at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, 1325 Klinerd Rd., Pennsburg, PA 18073. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12:30 PM. She will be laid to rest privately in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the Alzheimer's Association, alz.org or the American Cancer Society, cancer.org.
