Ann Vasko

Ann Vasko, 90, of Hellertown, passed away September 28, 2013 at her home. She was the widow of Frank B. Vasko, who passed on September 3, 2013. They celebrated 64 years of marriage last June. Born in Bethlehem, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Elizabeth (Yenca) Holva. She was an office clerk in the metallurgical department of the former Bethlehem Steel Corporation from 1942-1952. She was a member of St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Catholic Church, Hellertown, where she was a very active volunteer. She was also a member of the Pennsylvania Slovak Ladies Union, Branch 83 and the Orkes of the Lehigh Valley. She enjoyed bingo and she was an avid Phillies fan. Surviving: are children: Dr. Francis, and his wife Nancy, of Hellertown; Marie, wife of William P. Egan, of Salisbury Township; Bernie, and his wife Rayann, of Bethlehem Township; and Joann, wife of Richard Fritz, of York, PA; grandchildren: Sarah and Claire Egan, Lisa, Andrew, and Austin Vasko, and Nikolaus and Katie Fritz; a brother: Michael Holva, of Bethlehem Township; sisters: Betty Morris of Bethlehem; and Margaret Kolesnik of Hellertown. She was pre-deceased by siblings: Mary Moser; Helen Hasenecz; Sophie Ruggiero, Irene Zweifel, and Stephen and Francis Holva. Services: Funeral Mass will be at 9:30 AM on Saturday at St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Catholic Church, 1408 Easton Road, Hellertown.
